One Chair 100 Ways
Yale, 2008
This playful photo project began as a creative endurance workshop assigned by Michael Bierut at the Yale School of Art. The rules are simple but tough: pick a daily design task and repeat it every single day for one hundred days, without missing one.
Around day twenty, it gets hard and repetitive, but pushing through that wall creates a fun creative rhythm. The final video shows a different use for an ordinary household chair every day, turning a simple object into a playful study of human habits and imagination.
I made this video in 2008 as part of my MFA studies at Yale.
